Sustainable design. Green buildings.
Energy = capacity to do work. Almost everything around us is a form of energy. The wind, the sun and even as we move, we are producing some energy. As we all would know, conservation of energy is no doubt the key of sustainable architecture. A very good example of sustainable design is this:
dubai rotating tower

dubai rotating tower

By Italian architect David Fisher, this Dubai tower generates power by itself through wind turbines installed in between floors and solar panels installed on the roof. Each wind turbine could produce up to 0.3 megawatts of electricity and if all wind energy and solar energy were combined, this building could produce up to 1,200,000 kilowatt-hours per year. According to the architect, the dubai rotating tower will produce 10 times more energy than required to power it, thus making it a positive energy building.

Technology, architecture, climatology and biology. This building possess all traits that is on a bioclimatic chart. Buildings are now able to change their shapes to suit the environment. We have the technology, we have the resources. What is the world waiting for?
